Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Having a building named after you is an honour. Naming a building after yourself is cringe.
11·6 days agoThere is also an escalation of this, between naming a building you own, after yourself and naming other’s buildings after yourself let alone monuments

Yeah - this is the post that keeps popping up every time someone mentions Kagi.
To me it seems more like a personal issue between the writer, and the owner of Kagi. For me, I don’t find it quite as suspicious, and have used it with great results some time ago. My main issue is that it is based in the US
Thanks! I’ll try one of the public instances and see how that goes!
I do want to go back to Kagi, but I may have to compromise on me not wanting to support a company based in a country that I can’t support
I have heard about this, but every time i’ve looked into it, it is a link to github, and I am not very technically versed. I do use Linux, but just have Mint installed and it seems to work. I would want a webbased search engine though, that I can use across all of my devices, without having to host a search engine.
Fuck Spez
Sounds like a verse from the Bible

Off My Chest@lemmy.world•If the US gets hit by another 9/11, nobody will feel bad about it. This guy lives in Kentucky. Data shows people living in Kentucky love Trump. If an other 9/11 happens, I hope it hits Kentucky.English
12·11 days agoDude… too soon… Although I agree with the sentiment, using 9/11 to explain it is just plain stupid

They way I see it, USA can’t be kicked out but it can leave.
That said I don’t see a problem in making a new NATO, without the US and (hopefully) without veto rights
