They may be guilty of similar things, but not quite the same

Well offer PlayStation money for the studio and see if they say yes
No point telling us until you are in a position to do something
Wouldn’t that be tortoise crossing?

I haven’t had an optical drive in any computer or console or other device for many years at this point
I can understand the reasoning why people think this is a bad thing but it seems this is just where things were going anyway, vote with your wallet I guess
Well it is, but the writing is also on the wall, computer hardware increases will have more of an impact than consoles which are subsidised
I don’t think it out of the question that to play the newest game on PC your only option will be to stream it from PlayStation or xbox as that will work on cheaper hardware that more people have
At that point the piracy backup goes out the window

Personally I enjoyed the fact that for the casual consumer cheap windows laptops I would need to run malware scanners on for everyone I know were effectively replaced by iPads and iPhones
The moment other stores are introduced we will go back to the same nonsense, the older open options are still available, why isn’t that enough choice?
You understand that all this talk of piracy will just ensure that developers only target consoles in the future like they used to right?
It may be relatively strong sales in PC right now but I am sure they will collectively cut that off and you will be left with indie releases on GOG
This has all been the case on PC for a long time and there isn’t much complaining over there
I already buy everything digitally so don’t mind that much personally, would be nice if they committed to long term backwards compatibility though
I don’t have that either
It’s a spectrum, but I seem to be on the see nothing in my mind end

I’ll always remember going to a rise against concert and scalpers outside were saying “tickets for rise against the machine”, they have no idea what they are selling

Gaymers?, what did you censor
Well I got aphantasia, so I’ll stick with tv and films thanks

My current role gave me an ultra wide and a second monitor mounted vertically
Almost immediately turned off the second monitor, and the ultrawide I maintain my terminal in a more standard widescreen area
I really hate distractions outside my field of view

UK, a few chains tried it here but I imagine it was enough to drive people away so you don’t see it much anymore

I went to the US in 2024 and it was outrageous, every card terminal asked for it
I was under the impression it was just for sit down meals and not stuff like Starbucks or non food related things

I guess the point is that if you don’t have the disc then they can take it away from you
The way I see it is this has enabled companies to upgrade and rerelease games and keep them operational on newer hardware

They don’t know that yet, it’s like 4 months away from release

Would you rather it be sold as a piece of cardboard with a scratch off reveal code?
I think it’s like most things, 1% are loud and the rest will accept it
