What’s on the live lockscreen?
Is that always on display, or is it ad pushing lockscreen bloatware?
The name alone doesn’t suggest it’s a deal breaker. I do prefer complete use control, and don’t even need a new phone any time soon, but still.
I like Motorola as a brand, on account of having old flip and candybar phones that were awesome! Hate to hear they may be up to no good in the smartphone business.

Southern US, windows are only open in winter, basically whenever it’s comfortable outside. Never in the summer. The A/C runs basically 24hrs a day during the hottest 2 months of the year.
Windows on the car are basically left cracked for the opposite time. Rain deflector are installed to allow for this without rain getting in.

It’s not a theater movie for me, so I’m waiting for it on digital. Same with Good Luck… And Hail Mary.
Rarely do theaters anymore, less it’s a group outting.
I have a huge TV, 5.1 surround, and cheap food and beverages, and all you can eat popcorn for $30, and a pause button for various situations.
I prefer that, by a mile.

I’m not sure.

I don’t do ads, but I follow movie release threads. And I check in regularly to see what’s new or upcoming.
If I was big into modern books or new music I’d do that to.
Avoiding ads doesn’t mean not paying attention to things I care about.

I’m right there with ya friend. Who clicks through to an article these days?.. Unless it’s really detailed and important, or your curious.
Good posts on forums like these include noteworthy info in titles and posts, then include the links to source, for reference or further reading.

Can’t you call and report any road blockage or misuse.
I mean traffic cops may not get there in time, or may not care at the moment due to higher priority tasks, but aren’t they still reportable by default as long as they are illegal?

Tight! I had a VB, but I don’t think it lasted a year.
It was really fun though as a kid.
I don’t care for VR at all as an adult though.
Kinda interesting thinking back on that.
Kid me goes ‘oh neat!’ adult me goes ‘ug, can we just go to a park or build something instead’

Really looking forward to my SO upgrading away from their older lightening iPhone, and back to Android, maybe an e/os fairphone (they like the green one).

Community bikes are not a new thing. They had them in my hometown through most of my youth and teen years, and may still. I don’t live there anymore. 🙁
They had a strong bike community, and a bike store and repair shop off a main ped/cycle path through town, just outside downtown. It had a lounge and was the primary source of the community bikes and their maintenance.
Paint the bikes all a similar bright color, not white, and get stickers made with info about use and contact info for pickup and repair.
Like, “I’m a community bike, use me as you like, leave me somewhere responsibly when you’re done with me, so somebody else can use me too. Contact for pickup or repairs 555 RIDE 4ME”

Yeah, don’t say you don’t know if you do, that’s lying, which is a crime in this situation. You can answer crime related questions with questions (avoidance). But don’t do that for everything. If they push, start asking if you’re free to go. If they say no, invoke the 5th.
Don’t do their jobs for them.
Don’t answer any questions that could incriminate you. Or talk to them in general. But be polite when you do speak.
Only tell them your name or provide other required identity information. Don’t say where you are going or coming from. Don’t explain anything. Don’t tell stories. Don’t lie.

I can definitely cut steal with my angle grinder.

Faraday bags work… But test them.
I got a cheapo $7 Chromebook sized bag that seemed to work for my SOs iphone. We don’t use NFC so I couldn’t test that.
No BT, WiFi, or Cell, and probably no GPS.
I only did casual testing.
The screen still showed the signal having low bars for WiFi and cellular, but it didn’t actually receive a signal at all when trying to call or use the net, not even with the top of the bag open a sliver and my hand in there.
If the device was off or in airplane mode and in the bag, I’d be comfortable assuming it was safely hidden from tracking.
I haven’t thoroughly tested my various personal devices, but I expect identical results.
I think everyone should probably have a bag like this around, in a go-bag or something, just in case. And it’s safer to have your phone available than not, as long as it’s secure (use a pin or password to lock it, use encryption, put emergency info on it for first responders).

Death is not the only concern.
You don’t just not beat your dog because it doesn’t kill it.
These lights are too bright, they cause discomfort and stress out blinded drivers, and make driving at night impossibly for many who could otherwise drive safely before they were introduced.
For many night driving has become a rather traumatic experience, and that negatively effects them and other people as a result.
Imagine wearing a shocking dog bark collar and not knowing when it’s gonna go off, but knowing it could, and you are also operating a 2 ton vehicle at 60mph on a busy and notoriously deadly stretch of road with your adorable 3 year old twins buckled in the back seat.

Just put the onus on car and bulb sellers going forward, then tack on a req for antiques that goes into effect in stages, probably paired with registration renewals. That way it’s not an all-at-once burden, and most people can know about the transition well in advance. No surprises.

Awe, I miss browsers like Lynx, and MDA and EGA monitors. Those where the days.

That’s what email is for.
In fact, if I unblock them, I still get emails from an elementary school in the Seattle area because 20 years ago I dated somebody with a kid that went there and I subscribed to their event email.
Yes, I tried to unsubscribe for many years.
There’s at least one town in Florida too, but I won’t name it, it’s a closely kept secret.
