There is a non-zero number of times I thought very bad things that could be disastrous if I have the gumption and ability to plan and implement them. It is my duty to fight it and hope that I never falter in that.
It is what you do that makes you a good or bad person. You’ve done terrible things in the past? You can’t escape the consequences, but you can consciously decide to do good in the future. Keep in mind that it is a continuous battle, day by day.
If let’s say one of the instances becomes as big as Reddit/Twitter are in the internet, do we want them picking which opinions are acceptable?
I don’t have a definite answer to that. Instances are free to associate/disassociate, elevate/silence certain opinions. However, do we want an instance to continue to exercise them if they become the digital town square like the pre-Musk Twitter was?

I’m very wary of the measures that could potentially pass if the some of the anti-AI art people get their way. I know how messy and difficult putting fair-use material in YouTube can be. There would be more of that in more platforms.
