  • Lion’s Mane supplement or just straight up Lion’s Mane mushrooms?

How did they end up helping? I hadn’t heard of this use of them before.

I’d like to know a bit more if you don’t mind. I’m sure some others in this post may want to know as well due to the topic.

I’m a bit of an amateur mycologist and grow Lion’s Mane from time to time.

Congrats btw! Don’t discount your own effort by attributing your ass getting saved by Lion’s Mane. You put in work too I’m sure. Hope you also recognize that.

  • During CoVid some friends and I had a virtual movie club called CoVideo Club where we would meet up in VR each week to watch a movie in a virtual movie theater together.

Over the 200 movies we watched we screened all of the Predator movies. I picked the movies and sometimes I wouldn’t tell others beforehand what we were going to be watching during our next session. None of my friends follow upcoming movies so they had no idea about Prey, what it was or when it was coming out. It had been months since we had watched the last Predator movie so when I screened Prey they had no idea it was a Predator movie. It came out the day before we screened it so there wasn’t much talk about it in the media yet.

The slow realization they had that we weren’t watching a western but a sci-fi horror movie set in the Predator universe was fun to sit back and watch play out.

I haven’t seen Prey since but if I remember correctly the first time it dawned on them that this might be a Predator movie was the first time you see the fluorescent yellow glowing blood. They went wild.

  • Funny thing is, he does have a helicopter and his helicopter pilots license. Which he got in case of emergencies. After the LA fires this year I saw an interview with him where he was talking about it.

He was making fun of himself because he got his license and the helicopter to flee things like the LA fire but helicopters are expensive and he couldn’t afford more than a 2-seater so he can’t take his whole family if he ever had to really use it.

So my comment was based off a real thing he may say as to why he needed the money.

Tbh though, I could see him going with that third one.

  • You’re right, I guess spin is the wrong word here since it is a PR term and Bill Burr isn’t a PR type of guy.

I intended to mean, I wonder what he will say about this when he is publicly asked about it.

I am assuming he will be blunt and honest with answers ranging from,

“it’s none of your damn business”

    to

“I needed a new helicopter that has more than 2 seats so I can evacuate my family from LA safely once shit hits the fan and I don’t want to put myself in a Sofie’s Choice kinda situation”

    or

“Sorry, I wasn’t thinking when I accepted the job but donated the paycheck to the 9/11 families fund.”

  • I rank The Living Daylights and License To Kill the same way.

A Dalton led GoldenEye would be one of the first movies I track down if I ever find myself in a slightly different universe to our own where all those “almost happened” movies ended up being made. Like Tom Selleck as Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark, Eric Stoltz as Marty McFly in Back to the Future, Jerry Smith in Cloud Atlas or a Stanley Kubrick directed A.I.

I sometimes think how fun it would be to have access to a Multiverse Video Store. It would exist outside of all the different universes but have all the movies that were never made, or were made differently.

I don’t want to jump between universes and get involved in all that hijinks, but a video store that stocks its shelves from all universes would be fun to explore.

  • Yes! When I saw this post the Nokia 7380 was instantly where my mind went. I had the exact same phone, it was rad.

I remember at the time it was referred to as a “lipstick style” case. Loved that thing. I still have it in a box of old electronics somewhere, been thinking about digging it out and seeing if I could get it working again but assumed it wouldn’t on the current cellphone frequencies. I stopped using it when I got the original iPhone at release, so that was 18 years ago I guess. Haven’t not had an iPhone of some variation since.

The simplicity of it is what I always loved about the form factor. Yeah, it sucked for texting but maybe I shouldn’t be writing long texts nowadays anyway. It was fine if you are just replying with a couple words to a text. That reflective one way mirrored screen, real leather and simplicity of the buttons was a great mix of form and function for me at the time.

    Your picture didn’t load for me so I am attaching my own;
