It’s interesting that marketing departments find it more important to splash “final trailer” on a thumbnail, rather than the movie’s release date.

The additional problem is that studios are allowed to own streaming channels. So instead of content being sold to the highest bidder on an open market, it’s rushed out of the theater and onto the streaming channel where the studio makes the $$. And if it isn’t an initial successful property, no one else is allowed to buy it or show it.
Although I can’t stand him as a person, Roman Polanski made an excellent film out of Macbeth.
During Covid, they lent out multiple copies of the same book when they only had physical access to one copy. It would be like your local library making Xerox copies of their collection and handing them out. There’s no protections for that.

If I remember correctly, Microsoft experimented with something like this years ago. I tried to find a link but no luck. As I recall it focused on stitching together user-uploaded photos to create a panoramic view of a location over time.
MASH had a laugh track that the creators hated, but the network insisted on. As a compromise, they agreed not to use the track during surgical scenes.
