You probably want Strawberry as it is newer and maintained, but I still like Clementine for the extra features that Strawberry doesn’t have yet. For you probably, not a big deal - things like podcast support, cloud support etc.

The only thing I have to dual boot for is VR at this point. And I havent even done that in maybe 2 years. But it really is the final thing for me.

All the other games I care to play work fine. The last two Resident Evil’s were flawless. Almost everything is pretty much click and play these days.

My point was I hope they keep stalker like a stalker game. I said it was an odd comparison because everything about max payne was not in max payne 3. They completely changed it. Alan Wake is closer to a max payne game than 3 is.

Sam Lake and Remedy made masterpieces of story telling and atmosphere. Rockstar made a third person shooter. Polished and plentiful, not a bad game at all. But it was very far removed from what made Max Payne 1 and 2 great games.

I never did get a music subscription of any kind. Guess I am glad about that now. I just host my own server. Spotify never had a quarter of what I want to listen to anyways so I guess there is that.

I am surprised anyone cares that much. I don’t. 900 games and a 20+ year old account and I fully get that it all just goes away when I die, it just doesn’t matter. That is simply part of the plan when you pay for the convenience of having a cloud of installers and save files.

My kids don’t care. They already have their games. If they wanted ones that I played they will buy it in a steam sale.

The things you need to care about are creative software. My kids would be pissed if the artwork I made could never be retrieved. But games? Meh.

At that point you might as well go with a steamdeck. Works with or without the mouse/keyboard/screen and can play games. The desktop environment is full kde and ready to go.

Opt-In is not acceptable. You need to opt-out of: data sharing, data sharing with partners (unless you are in the UK or specific States), sharing playback data, stopping discovery together and activity feed, and turning off all of their live tv and streaming services.

Sharing streaming habits with others is not something that ever should have been opt-out. They keep pushing the line.

By the way, several of the “features” you mention are not included by default. Hardware decoding, downloads, DVR, etc.
