A year or so ago I also got a permaban on my old reddit account. I never did find out the reason for it, as to my memory none was stated. But I immediately stopped using reddit and after a while started using lemmy when I realized there were better alternatives. Just now I tried to log in to my reddit account to check whether I missed the permaban reason, but now my account is simply “locked” and I need to change my password. The notification message is not the same as it was back then.

I’ve always considered agnostics to be atheists who just don’t wanna debate. At least that’s why I used to call myself an agnostic when I was younger.
What’s the selling point on CachyOS? I use Pop os right now but I’m looking to swap to something new and I was never all that fond of Pop os. Before that I used Fedora which had an awful time running stable on my machine. Mostly I’m considering Debian

20·5 days agoThere have been talks in Europe about how we are dependent on American tech for our digital infrastructure. Some politicians even pushing for an alternative to Apple and Google. I hope everyone else wakes up before it’s too late.
Normal EU pricing. Hopefully this shortage will cause people to seek alternative modes of transport.
My native language is not English and saying “sequel” in this language is extremely forced and just not the norm. This bleeds over into English for me.
Isnt the metadata also encrypted?
I will always judge people who say “sequel”

98% of the time I wanted to do something, or had a problem I wanted to fix, the cause was Gnome. I hate Gnome. And coincidentally also feet.
Any tips for how to not end up doing this?

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL that last month, a rich man in New Jersey killed a pedestrian and left the scene. He was put on trial. The jury found him guilty. 15 minutes later, he walked out free. English
5·12 days agoAwful article, its truly hard to read. Why is the entire backstory of the victim relevant? We shouldn’t need to be told to have empathy for an innocent victim, that should be automatic. The driver deserves a sentence for second degree murder.
Its the principle for me

6·4 months agoI have tried the same on my hacked switch v1. I was running Overcooked 2 from the sd card and got a little frustrated with the load times so I tries moving in to internal storage. Noticed no improvement in load speed at all. But I don’t know the speed of my SD card or the speed of the switch, it might as well be the same.

I often think about the people I used to spend hours with every day playing games online. I wonder whether they think of me too.
