Great news! I love the project
I played around with Godot a couple years back and it is so fucking cool such a powerful tool like that is open source and free. Want them to succeed and grow, this is great news. Looking forward to seeing what the next big project to switch to the software will be.
Slay the Spurs 2 is a good game
Some of the art is a bit wonky though
Well yea, it’s early access, and half the art is labeled “placeholder” cause it’s not done yet. Great game regardless though.
Better this than an AI-generated one
The game is already a lot cleaner than the first
Honestly I love some of the placeholder stuff, its cute
StS1 let you unlock all the beta art as a toggle after finishing the True Ending. I guarantee you this will be back once StS2 gets its True Ending.
It does not feel like early access until you get to the end and unlock an unfinished epoch
How is it “wonky”?
A bunch of the game’s art looks like quick mspaint drawings. It’s just placeholder art while the game is still being developed.
Well thats intentional. And was the alpha art for the first one. The idea is there. And I would rather see someones scribbles in crayon than AI.
There is some clear placeholder art in a few places.
Shit I’m not a huge deck builder game fan, but I might buy this game and throw some money at Godot as well.
Well it’s by far the best deckbuilder out there so i hope you like it despite not enjoying other ones!
You should do this and Inscryption.
Awesome. Im causally working on a game in godot and its an amazing piece of software. Huge W for free and open source software. The documentation is already great.
There’s a Godot community at !godot@programming.dev if anyone wants to join
great they can use that for tokens
