I’ve been running movie nights for a while now, that a few different sites join.
For the prior two months we’ve been running the theme “Exceptionally original film making,” for films that pushed the boundaries in how films are made.
Well, it’s time for us to relax the snobbery a bit. The new theme is fun movies.
The way we typically do this is we get all the sites that are participating to nominate movies. They all go into a poll. We then watch the top ones every other Saturday. Or every Saturday if I can get someone to step up and help run it.
So, since we are in the nomination phase of this new theme, what movies are the most fun that people overlook?

Mitchells Vs The Machines (2021) is my guilty pleasure. Every frame a delight, every line carefully crafted to elicit a laugh. A great story, excellent animation, and a brilliant voice cast (Olivia Coleman, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolf). Yes it’s an animated kids movie. Yes, it’s made for Netflix. But it has giant killer furbys. With laser beams.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword
The George Clooney Ocean’s movies
The Ocean movies were my first thought, followed by Logan Lucky. Perfect examples of movies which put fun first, imo.
I don’t participate in this but Smokey and the Bandit is just pure fun. Plus it’s pretty simple for a movie night movie
