OK but isn’t HTC’s reputation pretty good? Or maybe used to be…

So far I always heard the T1 would be some even cheaper no-brand from China.

OTOH, it could still be exactly that - a no-name rip-off of the HTC U24 Pro. The article actually supports that: the boards are the same but not identical. Like somebody used the same plans, not the same factory.

I know 8yo phones that still receive updates.

I wonder how the Trump phone will handle this. Not at all, I suspect.

Its not about that, its about this “new trump phone” being some old phone being sold as new

GSMArena lists it as being available on the market.

The T1 is not exactly this device; from the article I get the impression it’s built from the same plans, but in a different factory.

It’s fairly common for any smaller batches produced mobile devices to be a bit slow to develop & hit the market.

It’s still a grift and a rip-off, but the phone having been on the market for just under 2 years is not the worst part.

I’m going back to an old LG phone after my current phone dies. There really has not been much real progress in hardware or software, more like loss of features and controls with new updates these days.
