This is extremely helpful! Thank you for the insight.
Most young people don’t know what’s going on either with all the celebrities. Everything has just become so niche. You could have a popular streamer with 10M+ subscribers and interview 100 people on the street under 18 and nobody knows who they are.
How do creators generate income? Is it just Patreon type stuff? YouTube is probably one of the few services I actually don’t hate using other than its terrible algorithm.

I genuinely don’t even know what this post is talking about. Bread ties on a windowsill? What?
I think when the dust settles people are going to realize it’s her race to lose. That should answer both questions.

The amount of obvious bot posts and comments just essentially copy pasting the same basic shit all over the place got exhausting.
I’ve probably really only had one job where this was a problem, and it was already a politically charged environment because of the work we were doing. Despite the nature of the work, the drama wasn’t political at all. It was just all young people just out of college airing way too much of their personal lives too freely. With all of the rivalries, infighting, and occasional sabotage, it felt like a 2000s MTV series in there.
I’m not sure I agree about the smell of wooe, but the cambium of many different tree species is perfectly edible. Have at it, my friend!
Self aware idiot.
The ads are in the app store. I don’t really understand why that’s a problem. Although I’m probably the only tool out there that actually likes Windows 11.
I saw a KIA the other day that I was surprised looked as slick as it did. Decided to look into it and saw a lot of positive reviews from owners. Was refreshing to see, but definitely surprising. The market is definitely changing and evolving. Tesla isn’t the only game in town.
Mastadon is your friend. Switch to it and never look back. It is so much better than Twitter ever was.
I feel like narrow AI tools duped me for a while, but the more I started to really use Chat GPT professionally, the more I’ve likened it to professional mimicking software. It essentially works to pyt out responses that sound the most convincing but have nothing to do with putting out responses that are actually at all accurate. These are terrible tools outside of asking basic questions, idea generation, and generally summarizing existing information you feed into it. I use it to help me make lists and better phrase emails and company messages at this point and nothing that actually requires any actual fact finding.
Could it be possible that these are different groups of people? Lemmy has like 70,000 monthly users now.
Baldur’s Gate and Elden Ring I tried to like but just couldn’t get into either of them despite giving them both a fairly long warmup time. I get the allure of both, but the play style or the pacing just aren’t for me.
The ACA is good when you actually reach out to a patient care “assister” for support. You can get rates WAY lower than advertised if you work with someone who can help navigate it. I think the program is actually tremendous, but it’s been made intentionally cumbersome and difficult to use by the folks trying to kill it. I’ve used it twice while out of work back in 2016 and again over the pandemic and had completely free plans that covered my “tier 3” prescriptions and specialist (rheumatology) appointments.
