Gonna block ya now since you seem desperate for the last reply. You may have it.

uhdeuidheuidhed@thelemmy.clubto Technology@lemmy.world•SpaceX says states should dump fiber plans, give all grant money to StarlinkEnglish2·2 hours agoWe already have physical lines.
Businesses and governments aren’t going to invest in digging and laying down more cables to give people in rural America access to fiber. They’re already reluctant to do it for major cities.

I’m not a useful idiot going to bat for the people taking money from me while getting mad at whoever calls it out.

Satellite internet is not the future; it’s cell internet.

What about putting caps on rent?
Seems like he could do both of these without any backing from wealthy people.
uhdeuidheuidhed@thelemmy.clubto Technology@lemmy.world•Silicon Valley Is Panicking About Zohran Mamdani. NYC’s Tech Scene Is NotEnglish2·3 hours agohttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratchet_effect
The ratchet effect is a concept in sociology and economics illustrating the difficulty with reversing a course of action once a specific thing has occurred, analogous with the mechanical ratchet that allows movement in one direction and seizes or tightens in the opposite.
Republicans push us in one direction, weak/complacent democrats don’t fight back.
It’s part of the two-pronged strategy, and why anyone who supports establishment democrats is tacitly supporting republican policies.
We really needed Bernie in 2016, but it shows where liberals’ priorities lie. They become conservative as soon as their wealth is threatened.

I’ve never seen it, but it seems like the kind of dumb normie-show that I wouldn’t like. I base this solely off of all the morons I see that went apeshit over it when it came out.
Instead, treat yourself to some high-brow art like Undone. You probably haven’t heard about it because it’s an Amazon Prime exclusive, and most of the idiots today “consuming” digital entertainment have been conditioned to only see what’s a part of their paid streaming service(s).
Since we’re smarter than the average idiot, we can stream it for free here: https://hydrahd.io/ No account or credit card info required, but you will need an adblocker (which you should already have, but many morons complain about ads to this day without realizing adblockers exist.)

uhdeuidheuidhed@thelemmy.clubto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do you think payment processors are restricting their policy to exclude pornographic content?6·3 hours agoThe ruling class deemed that’s what they need to do, so that’s what they do.
Personally, I think our rulers are getting upset that we’re not spitting out babies as much as we used to, so their offspring will have fewer servants to boss around.
It’s always acceptable to kill a rich person. Their culture and lifestyle results in magnitudes more death and suffering than if every rich person was hung.

This means there’s a lot of programmers who are available to work on other things. It’s an opportunity for businesses to start and new programs to be made.
uhdeuidheuidhed@thelemmy.clubto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why don't political assassinations happen anymore in the US?1·13 hours agoTo counter everyone saying “they do,” could you be referring to more high-profile cases?
Trump was shot at, but not killed. Would’ve made history if he was.
The US doesn’t have political assassinations on the level of say, Mexico, but they are frequent enough for someone to be able to point to them still happening. Usually it’s about some congressperson that we’ve never heard of.
I’m not sure if there’s greater protection based on the popularity of politicians. It would make sense if someone like AOC gets more protection than, well, someone we haven’t heard of.

I’m glad that pretty much all of the artists I enjoy didn’t do anything like drug and rape women or come out in favor of oppressive nonsense (as far as we know.)
It doesn’t surprise me that the businessmen posing as artists routinely end up being pieces of shit. It’s always good for a laugh when the morons who liked their art find out for themselves.
Really? Just about everyone I come across is surprised when they find this out.
