The article names the game in the headline, not clear why your post needed to try to be click bait?

It’s about OpenMW, the open source game engine to play Morrowind on.

Yeah the game had controller support for years through OpenMW. It is the reason I went back to play morrowind 2 years ago. I guess they added some new features on the controller aspect of it which is cool though.

I take issue with the clickbait title and am ready to perform an “Umm… actually”. Morrowind featured controller support for years via the Xbox. It didn’t just get it. Heck, it still doesn’t officially support controllers on PC. I wouldn’t even call OpenMW devs “modders”.

My stupid gripe aside, for those who don’t know, you can pop in an OG Morrowind Xbox disk into any generation of Xbox console and it’ll play. Series X will even boost the resolution up to nearly 4K (1920p).

I read about this last night and decided to finally give Morrowind another shot. I’ve got about 6 hours of playtime and I really did enjoy it when I was playing it but I couldn’t get hooked for some reason. I downloaded OpenMW 0.50.0 last night and I’m doing a new playthrough, hoping I get hooked this time. I really want to get into this game more.

I’ve really been enjoying playing Diablo 1 with a gamepad using DevilutionX (which is mentioned in the article), so this is a welcome addition for me.
