The US in the 90s was 500% more woke than today.

Not in terms of policy, perhaps, but in terms of outlook and spirit. That progress would happen was never in question- only how long it would take. Backsliding into Nazi shit was not a possibility. American democrats today routinely say things that would have gotten republicans crucified in the 90s.

To everyone ready to tell me how much worse things were in the 90s- yes, I know- I was a foreigner living in the US during more than half of that decade.

The difference is that the promise of America was still alive then and even those of us who weren’t in the “in group” knew a better world was right around the corner- that shit is dead and buried now.

There was perhaps a naivete around social progress then because economic needs were better met across the board (not for everyone, but on average). The presumption was that social progress would be linear. I was young then so I didn’t know that economic hardship could undo social progress with a snap of the fingers.

When he met the Nazis church and guys living off the grid waiting for the new world order it was a warning if what to come.

I was just gonna say, I moved into Portland a few months ago, and it really is woke-90s here. And that’s something I say lovingly.

Come to WarFrame, we have the 90s and tons of “woke” mixed with sci-fi, it’s cool as fuck!
(There’s a whole 90s themed expansion, including an original boy band and grunge music, a 90s themed mall and missions and a whole romance thing that’s deeply connected with the story and your interraction with that is a 90s themed computer OS via instant messaging with the characters of the expansion. (It’ll take like 500 hours to get to it though, but those are hours well used as it’s a superb ride the whole way, and no real money ever needed to be spent)).
And the developers really care about LGBTQ+ and other “woke” things, they do a lot of work to support relevant charities and they’re beloved and trusted within those communities. Never seen another big company do it that well, where it shows they actually care and support it.

I support this message. Just know Warframe is MMO-like, having similar grinds and mechanics, but it’s up to 4 person co-op based, and no raiding. The game play is fast paced, ADHD-like, but the lore and story requires you to slow down and soak it in. The deeper you look into the lore, the more rewarding it can be, if you like doing that. You can play the game solo 100% and take your time, but some parts are better in groups. The game is very easy to play, but there are a lot of mechanics to learn, and I don’t recommend build guides anymore because they could make the game too easy and boring for new players. Use the offical warframe.wiki, not the outdated fandom one. It’s p2w (hot take in the community), but you can freely grind for everything, and the devs are very generous with the grind, listening to feedback and adjusting.

Yes! I always had this wish to start an Amish colony but focused on 90 but with woke. No cellphone towers and the internet is heavily throttle through a local isp. Have a local movie theater that only played two movies a week. So we all have same local culture either to love or to hate it. Build parks and a mall so you could just exist without paying money.

if the us were a socialist/communist country from the great depression, the 70s would’ve been woke. seriously!
