yeah if games are all about cut scenes then I will just watch it being played but if there is massive customization and an open world then I will want to play it instead.
Eh, not in my anecdotal experience. I only watch LPs (and very specifically not streams) of games that I have no intent of playing myself, or of games that I already played and loved so much that I want to watch others play it as well.
Clair Obscur, for example, I really want to watch some LPs of but I haven’t yet because I intend to play the game.
Same. Sometimes I’ll try a game and learn that it’s not for me. Hop on free tube and find an LP.
That makes sense. If the game is basically a movie, why not just watch someone else play it?
I do watch streams but that puts me in a minority of people, especially after covid lockdowns ended. Variety gaming live stream channels… the viewership is quite low? Especially real numbers. You’d think the corporations and advertisers would’ve got word about all the egregious view botting going on by now too.
Do streams then and not a RPG?!Edit: ~
You must have misunderstood. He means that RPGs need more freedom/choices because otherwise people will just just watch streams instead of playing the games.
