Well… Luigi was right
He was right, wasn’t he? Feels good to say it in a place where I won’t get banned for expressing it. Luigi was right.
He did the right thing but not enough times.
In a civilized county we would have broken him out by now.
Luigi legitimately wasn’t the shooter, though.
Correct. He was with me the whole day.
How did he help to improve access to health care?
How did they say he did?
In what other sense was he “right”? In thinking that the US has a shitty health care system? I think we knew that already.
Right in choice of target, perhaps?
That’s what I assumed they meant, but I’m not sure.
You could ask them.
The shooter removed a tick from its host, what are you confused about?
He had the right solution, just needed to scale up it’s application
The day after he (allegedly) shot that CEO, all claims were approved without questioning.
it has been rolled back after the news blew over. and people posting on reddits that they started denying again.
Yeah, and all that has since been rolled back, cause the shareholders got scared for their dividends. Clearly far more valuable than employee lives, regardless the flavor of employee.
All claims, you say? Without questioning? You sure about that?
UnitedHealth Group CEO Andrew Witty defended the company’s claim denial practices in an internal video which was leaked after the fatal shooting of Thompson. Recorded on December 5, the day after Thompson’s death, Witty emphasized the company’s role in ensuring “safe and appropriate” care and that the insurance giant will continue to prevent "unnecessary care”.[169] Two months after the shooting, UnitedHealth hired a defamation law firm to take action against social media posts critical of the company.[170] Prosecutors alleged that the killing had scared 40 UHC executives into hiring bodyguards.[171]

I’m gonna be perfectly honest, I didn’t think ANY Americans could afford healthcare.
I hope somebody liberates that country. I feel sorry for poor everyday Americans. It’s like north Korea.
Well, they said that half struggled to afford it. They didn’t mention how many didn’t have a chance of affording it.
Right. I’m not struggling to afford it. I just don’t have any lol.
Close to 10% of our population dont have any health insurance at all. Nearly 30 million.
AT LEAST 15% is uninsured, dont know about being on medicaid/care though.
I’m surprised you can afford anything in that shithole of a country after Fascism teasers got put in power.
us spent it all on DEFENSE BUDGET.
Really, just now learning that? Lol
I’ve had insurance through my employers since I was 18 years old. For the first time in my life I opted out since it was cheaper to pay out of pocket than pay the premiums for my entire family. The worst part is I work for a healthcare organization making almost 3 times the national average.
different plans might be better for some people. i assume you dont ahve dental or paying that out of pocket?
dental costs are even worst than healthcare because its mostly not covered even if you buy different dental insurance.
Actually my employer does pay for dental and vision. They used to offer medical but like with everything, they decided employees should pay a percentage of it but it’s too expensive just to have it for checkups
It’s a feature, not a bug. Healthcare and insurance companies exist for and only care about profits.
If people are struggling to afford healthcare it means their prices are right where they want them.
Now do people not struggling to afford healthcare because they’ve given up on the idea of affording healthcare at all and don’t even bother
Since the Big Beautiful Bill killed my Obamacare, I stopped going to the doctor. Starting to build up some problems but my wife just got “promoted” off the temp company and the insurance isn’t much more for both of us than only her.
It’s a badge of honor to have a job with benefits you can’t pay for!
—- maga probably.
I can’t even get easily accessible mental healthcare under my employers insurance (UHC). I tried calling the in network GP line and they said mental health services are technically out of network under my plan. So I use UHCs “find a provider” section on their dogshit website. One result, I call the number, it’s disconnected.
I widen my search, sift away the counselors with shitty reviews, find a couple that could be an ok match. More disconnected numbers, and the only number that wasn’t disconnected just dumps me into a voicemail. God I fucking hate it so much. UHC really, really doesn’t want people seeking out mental healthcare.
mental care seems very tricky for any insurance in general. the ones insurances in my area is very hesitent to refer to these professionals and prescribe the meds, since they can be abused/trafficked they require extra authorization.
Pretty crazy to think it’s even that low. I think I’m dying and can’t get healthcare; I thought this was a more common experience than less than half
half of the other half didn’t “struggle” because they already gave up on trying to get health care in the first place.
I’m surprised it’s not more.
I’m guessing that like unemployment, you just aren’t counted in the numbers if you are too far beyond struggle. Not so much as a check-up in 10+ years? Must be perfectly healthy! No? Uh…
Only reason I’ve been to a clinic or a hospital in the last year was because my wrist hurt so much I had to. And that I work in EVS so I clean the damn place.
One of the myriad reasons I fled the US last year.
The average healthcare plan is 18k a yr per person. So that is a start.
My family plan for 4 is 36k a yr
i bought a individual plan for the first time ACA, and was quite surprised families pay alot more for OPM, and deductibles. because i made just enough money not to qualify for state subsidized care. tried changing work hours to strategize it, but manager was giving attitude and refuse a change.
And the other half didn’t go but couldn’t afford it if they actually went. Winning.
