It’s impossible to say since no one has actually lived through the 2020s. It’s 2025 dude, we’re all right in the middle of the 2020s.

People in power are actively dreaming up new unspeakable horrors to release upon the American public as we speak.

I’m sure there’s plenty more trauma to come

Every decade had it’s pile of shit, and for the moment, the 2020’s have been a walk in the Park compared to 2010’s.

Sure covid was a wild-ride, where we had to mostly stay at home when no valid reason to go-out, and when out the city was quiet. and then proceeding to normal life with some accommodation is weird,

Remember the 2010’s with the long-tail of the 2008 economic crisis, the terrorist attacks (and all the security measure impact on day to day life), The start of the Ukraine war, The Syrian civil-war, the politicians not listening to kids protesting climate change, the Brexit, and tons of other crazy problems ?

None. A very long time before any of this started going down, both my sister and myself informed my parents that neither of us were having children and that this particular line stops here.

Not because of any trauma (that I can remember). But we’ve both seen the state of the world and decided, with our respective partners, that forcing children into this shit-show is unconscionable.

Never trust the news, never trust the government,

Actually, I’ve been okay with our government this last half-decade. It’s not been awesome, but it’s been nowhere near as bad as, say, America’s last 90 days. We avoid the foreign-owned press a bit more, now that they’ve self-identified themselves, but our leader has been … I’m gonna say ‘okay’ … and the health advice and status from our head health honcho was … adequate.

A deranged flatlander, though? Never trusting one of those whackadoos again.

I’ve always thought it cruel to have children as they’re incapable of consenting to sapient existence. Add in living in America on a dying planet, and now you’re just being deliberately cruel by having kids on purpose.

Don’t assume your tax dollars are put to good use. If your neighbors are gullible enough, your money will literally be siphoned towards repressing you.

    Invest globally.

That the West is just hunky dory with supporting a genocide that is being live streamed.
