Fuck off

Huh, it’s been edited. In the original Barfyman said “kill yourself”.
Fuck off is a better option.

Certainly less horrific.

I tried messaging a Finlander about a very successful mod for a videogame to thank them for making it. DM’s closed, comments disabled, tracks buried 😅 they ain’t having it. authentic experience
As a Finn I can say that you’re only supposed to give ”constructive feedback” which means pointing out mistakes. Any compliment will be taken as sarcasm.
That’s sad, but I get it. Thanks for clueing me in
It was a bit exaggerated but true to an extent
I remember when the internet was new, I’d make friends with random people I’d “meet”. Like, I’d play Diablo with some rando on battle.net and then we’d stay in touch. Now it seems more ephemeral. Maybe it’s just because I’m older.
As a young teen, I arranged irl meets with people from band guestbooks and friends-of-friends-of-friends from MSN pretty frequently.
Dumb, looking back, but all turned out to be who they said they were and good times were had. Would be super concerned if my kid did the same and he’s literally an adult now, so idk.
My first internet experience was ‘96ish. My buddy’s dad was an HP engineer and had the stuff before a lot of people did. My buddy’s dad logged on, went into a chatroom, and the first thing I ever saw was a sex roleplay of Peter Pan and Wendy and some incest porn. Since then, nothing on the World Wide Web has surprised me. Been a few things I could have gone without seeing though 😕
One of my best friends I met in a DRG lobby. We don’t really even play DRG anymore, we do talk almost every day, sometimes they call and talk with me while I fall asleep (wildly different time zones). Don’t even know their name lol
I can’t remember where j first heard it but internet friends are weird, like i know some of mine deepest darkest secrets, yet i don’t even know if really has legs
I met my best friends over the internet in my late 20s during the pandemic. But it was a d&d lfg group and we’re just the ones who actually played. I actually spend a month living with one of them when I moved out west last year
I had a really good DND group during the pandemic. Probably the best game I ever ran. But it was online, and when the pandemic called down they all just drifted away. Very sad about it, honestly.
Hello World! ☺️
Fuck off

It’s like every day life, where you are fine but someone else is not.
reminded me of our data analysis teacher that kept banning all students that tried befriending him on Facebook.
good man, good man
Wise man. Doesn’t wanna get accused later on of having affairs with his students.
it was way before the modern wave of cancel culture in late 2000s early 2010s - back when Facebook had separate quick chats and proper messages.

13/f/ca (just answering the meme to the best of my knowledge, never know when a similar one comes up)

My first thought, too.
The internet in a nutshell: unlimited connection, immediate chaos 😭
I read something decades ago that still rings true to this day.
Internet + Anonymity = Fuckwad
