Advocating for them (the government, whatever team they happen to be on) acting on the Epstein files is like asking a toddler nicely to punish themselves. It is not in their best interest to do so, because it hurts their main benefactor, the owning class. The only way to have a shot at this happening is if the government is no longer owned by the owning class. To get there, you’d need to get rid of a number of things:

    • the threat of capital flight (“if you do something I don’t like, I will take my gizmo factory elsewhere”)
    • the ability of the owning class to shape the opinions of the electorate through owning the media (social and legacy) they consume
    • the ability of the owning class to legally bribe politicians (“if you do this thing I like, you will get a cushy job at my gizmo factory, or I’ll pay you 500k to talk at my event for an hour”, also super PACs)

Until you get rid of all this, no one (on any side of the aisle) will ever do anything about the epstein files, no matter how many parades/protests you do. Your collective votes do not weigh up against the three points I mentioned. See also the Panama papers.

Oh and voting doesn’t work to fix the three points, because the three points ensure that most candidates (on either side of the aisle) do not benefit from doing anything about them, and the ones that do don’t have much of a shot at winning (see point 2).

If everyone is on the same evil side, overthrow the government already. Why wait?

Democraps definitely havent been trying to pass positive legislation for decades and succeeded some of the time. Theyre the exact same!

Now let me go snort some glass and coke!

Oh shit yeah you’re right, I forgot about the democrats! I love how they advocate for universal health care in their campaigns, as well as workers rights, and anti war stuff. Remember when Harris said she actually didn’t like fracking? Man those guys really care about the environment. I really loved how they didn’t send billions in military aid to a nation committing a genocide. Oh and remember when they reinstated roe v wade? Man that was heroic. Personally, I’ll never forget when Biden released the Epstein files and prosecuted the people involved in the pedophile sex ring, similarly to when Obama acted on the Panama papers and curbed billionaire tax evasion. Thank God these guys never bailed out any banks. Very glad they’re on our side, and clearly not beholden entirely to corporate interests.

When you have an unfortunately biased 2 party system, you can choose the formless weird airline food or the pile of glass and barbed wire. You are suggesting that we do nothing at all, or just not vote, which helps glass barbedwire burger-man.

We can progress out of shit soup, but we are headed toward fascism. We just need to get rid of Dumpling first. Dumpling, then AIPAC and replace congress, and eventually the presidency. Throwing a fit and being cool with a worse (now potentially unstoppable) option doesnt make you morally superior or anything of the sort. Leopards, meet face.

Man why am I even arguing with a bad faith arguing bot, tf is wrong with me.

I mean outside of America people have lost their jobs and their titles and potentially jail time due to appearing in the files. You can argue it’s not enough but I will stress outside of America there has been some semblance of accountability.

In America absolutely nothing has happened. Nothing. Speaks volumes of the nation.

The emperor is without his clothes. We all see it.

Not exactly - congressional investigations are going on, but processes IRL don’t produce results in 22 minutes like on TV. It doesn’t work like, “We see you’re in the files, welcome to jail.”

Epstein himself was indicted more like 20 years ago. The 22 minute TV show reference was overly sarcastic, but I’m not an apologist for anyone. The justice system is just excruciatingly slow. My belief is that Bonespurs will probably dodge all consequences by having his final Big Mac Attack. With him gone, his coattail riders will probably start backstabbing each other and maybe then we’ll see some action.

This isn’t a “justice is slow” problem. This is a “the justice system only serves to punish the poor and powerless” problem.

The fact of these files is they were in the hands of the FBI and prosecutors 20 years ago. Nothing happened as a result even though there appears to be dozens of individuals capable of being charged with crimes. That’s 20 years of incriminating evidence just sitting around collecting dust because it’d be politically inconvenient to pursue charges.

Justice moves rapidly when a power tripping cop wants to ruin you life. It moves very slowly when a rich pedophile rapes children.

Right? If it were a poor person they’d have zero qualms about putting them in jail while sorting it all out too. There is nothing that can disguise that our ‘justice’ system exists almost entirely to suppress the poor and enable the rich.

Depends - was it a random guy you caught doing those things or a random guy whose name you found in an email? Somehow people seem to think this should be as slam dunk as catching a bunch of anime bad guys with EVIL stamped on their foreheads.

I prefer a slow justice system that gets the criminals for their crimes than a quick one that drags innocent people into an undeserved situation.

I have not read any of the files yet, but I have been told they include unsubstantiated and un-investigated reports, some of which may be “trolling” and not even attempt to contain any truth.

That said, cannibalism is, IMO, a lesser moral failing than what the victim reported (and continue to support).

I read a bit of the stuff from the tip line. Some of it is very raw, and that’s putting it nicely. Like, I had a neighbor who was troubled by delusions. Some sounded spot on like that, a story that wasn’t just absolutely wild, but didn’t fit with some known facts.

Most likely codename for drugs, “jerky” for something or other. It just takes away attention from the real crime of raping underage people. Yeah, maybe some got raped to death, but that don’t mean anyone ate them.

There were a few emails from people asking epstein for some of his jerky. Annoyed replies saying that the supply of jerky given them should have lasted longer. Then an email from Maxwell saying something to the effect of “there will be no more jerky for a while, Mr. Epstein has decided to return to normal food.”

I do not know in what other context that could have possibly been other than cannibalism.

Here’s a video about the cannibalism part, I seriously can’t imagine it being anything else than that.

I’m all for believing they raped underage people. Teens, preteens, kids. I can believe that. But these “jerky” things are so fucking lazy, it’s just drugs. It’s a lazy codename for drugs. I think it’s weird for beef jerky to be “the only thing I eat”, but I know people that do the “carnivore diet” and that’s supposed to be meat-only.

Maybe it is code for some illicit item that you might measure in pounds and consume, but I don’t think that’s obvious or certain.
